BECOME A BICYCLE FRIENDLY BUSINESS TODAY!

Bicycling is more than a practical, cost-effective solution to many municipal challenges. It’s an opportunity to make your community a vibrant destination for residents and visitors — a place where people don’t just live and work, but thrive.

Since the creation of the Bicycle Friendly Community program in 1995 there have been over 1500 community applications processed by League staff. There are currently 450 recognized Bicycle Friendly Communities and over 100 Honorable Mention communities.

About Us

DIVERSIFYING TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS,

ONE BICYCLE AND BIKE LANE AT A TIME.

BIKElaredo is an organization advocating for a transportation system that accommodates to every type of commuter.

Our goal is to educate, advocate, and organize. Working closely with the Mayor's Wellness Council, we are uniting the efforts of the City of Laredo, the Texas Department of Transportation and many cycling advocates to create a healthier, more equitable city that works for everyone.

Joey Muñoz

Safe Passage Ordinance

KEEP 3 FEET OF SEPARATION WHEN PASSING CYCLISTS.

Joey Muñoz was a Laredo-area cyclist who tragically lost his life after being hit by a vehicle while riding his bike.

The City of Laredo passed the Joey Muñoz Safe Passage Ordinance instructing motor and commercial vehicles to keep three and six feet of separation when passing vulnerable road users, respectively. Learn more, here.
