City of Laredo adopts urban bike design
LAREDO, TX (KGNS) - The City of Laredo is adopting a design guide to help create a more bike-friendly city.
At Monday night's City Council Meeting, the council agreed to use the National Association of City Transportation Officials Urban Bikeway Design Guide.
This guide will be another tool for the Traffic Department as they begin the process of implementing more bike lanes.
Traffic Director Robert Eads says they'll be referring to the guide whenever they run into issues that aren't addressed in ordinances or state and federal laws.
Other cities using the National Association of City Transportation Officials’ guide are San Antonio and Austin along with several other cities across the country.
